Commissions
Commissions are made to the customer’s specifications, bringing their vision into a piece of jewelry that is a reflection of their life. Sometimes a customer will want an updated look for an heirloom, that better reflects their taste and sometimes with additional stones. A commission is designed specifically for you, and executed by the designer into something tangible.
These are some of the many commissions I have done.
Wedding tiara for a lovely bride, pictured here with her handsome groom. Tiara is sterling silver, 14 kt. Gold, and South Sea shell pearls in an Art Nouveau style. It was made adjustable, because the bride wasn’t sure how she would wear her hair.

This commission was for the wife of a gentleman from China, who wanted a necklace the color of one of my daughters’ eyes, and as large as a pullet’s egg.
The result was a Swiss blue topaz of 62+ carats, set in a basket setting with ornate wire. The setting was made to accentuate the lively intense blue color and to give it lots of sparkle. It was made to be worn with a strand of 8 mm pearls and also a large Byzantine chain.

This horse brooch was done for one of my daughters, who was away at college. She was missing her wide open spaces and wild horses.
Working from a photo of one of the wild horses, named Flirt, I repousséed the form with wooden dowels and a pitch pot.
Part of the form was saw pierced, removing negative spaces.
An iridescent patina was applied to complete the piece.
