“Moon Rising”

Another collector piece that starts with embossed silver in a diamond pattern. The unusual asymmetric shape is made by scoring on the back side in flowing lines. Then the form is bent into its new shape and frozen with solder to hold its shape.

The gold patterns are put on with a process called keum-boo. The 24 kt. pure gold is rolled in a mill by hand, until it’s as thin as heavy-duty foil. It is applied to a fine silver surface by fusing, also known as eutectic bonding. There is no solder used.

The dichroic glass cabochon is set on two 14 kt. gold wires. It exhibits a crackle texture under the clear coating, so it looks suspended in the glass. The stone has both blue and green colors in it. It was made by a local artist.

The silver has an iridescent patina of mostly blues, with some green and violet undertones.

An absolutely beautiful and striking piece that will be noticed and admired.
