Optical Illusion with Pearl
This intriguing piece is a three-dimensional optical illusion. If you concentrate
in the center of the pendant where the pearl is, at first it seems as if the pearl
is inside. But as you look at the hand etched pattern more closely, then the pearl
seems to be on the outside of the box. Which is it? Actually, it’s an innie, not
an outie.
When people hold these 3-D optical illusions in their hands, they are so startled
when they see the stone or pearl go from being inside the box to the outside, they
frequently drop it. Good thing I make them sturdy. But it’s just such an interesting
phenomenon that people can’t believe it changed right in front of their eyes, and
right in their hands.
This piece is a good choice for casual or office wear, and it definitely is a conversation
starter.
